Bountiful family files suit over smoking neighbor 

A second Utah couple has decided to go to court to try to get a neighbor to stop smoking indoors.

Ryan and Karisa Creer have filed a civil lawsuit in 2nd District Court asking a judge to order their neighbor, Larry Pontious, to stop smoking in their Bountiful condominium unit. Their lawsuit asks the judge to use a law designed to protect homeowners from unreasonable nuisances.

A Centerville couple, Matthew and Amanda Parrish, recently tried the same tactic against their condominium association but have since dropped their complaint. . . The Creers' lawsuit also claims the smoke poses a serious threat to the health of their 1 1/2-year-old son.
